October 2, 2024 at 6:04 pm, No comments

In season opener, Aesthetic went head to head with VoidWalkers in a thrilling best of three. The veto went as following:

  • Anubis (VoidWalkers)
  • Ancient (Aesthetic)
  • Vertigo (Decider)

VoidWalkers started strong with a quick B push in the pistol round, securing a 2-0 lead. However, Aesthetic's defense responded swiftly, especially with timely rotations, leveling the game at 2-2. Aesthetic began reading their opponents well, racing to a 6-2 advantage, but VoidWalkers threw a wrench in the works with a well-executed A split, bringing it to 6-4. CrZe's heroic play during a force buy turned the tide, and Aesthetic closed the half with a narrow 7-5 lead.

The second half started poorly as Aesthetic dropped the pistol round again, bringing the game to 7-7. But quick mid frags and a successful A split gave Aesthetic an economic advantage. A crucial 1v3 clutch by flaaars pushed Aesthetic ahead to 9-7. Grizz and CrZe’s 2v2 victory, followed by De1Co’s eco lurk and 1v1 post-plant win, secured the map for Aesthetic at 13-7.

The pistol round woes continued as Aesthetic lost another one, allowing VoidWalkers to sprint to a 4-0 lead. But a solid 3k from Grizz on A hold and an incendiary kill by De1Co brought Aesthetic their first round. A swift rotation followed, tying the game at 4-4. Grizz and CrZe’s big play secured a 4k, leading to a 5-5 scoreline before Aesthetic's defense held strong to finish the half in their favor 7-5.

However, the curse of the pistol round struck again in the second half, letting VoidWalkers pull ahead at 9-7. But a well-timed lurk by De1Co and B site hit gave Aesthetic hope at 8-9. The game remained tight at 10-10, but two failed mid splits put Aesthetic in a tough spot. In a critical 1v1 post-plant, De1Co couldn’t convert, and VoidWalkers took the map.

The final map kicked off with a classic De1Co mid call - a fast 5 man mid push that worked wonders, with all players surviving. Aesthetic took an early 3-0 lead, but VoidWalkers fought back, and the game became a back and forth battle, tied at 5-5. By the end of the half, VoidWalkers managed to pull ahead 5-7.

CrZe’s 1v1 clutch pistol round in the second half gave Aesthetic a lifeline, closing the gap to 8-7. The match stayed razor-close, with both teams trading rounds until 11-11. However, Aesthetic couldn’t stop VoidWalkers final B hits, and the game slipped away 11-13.
